@"Kannon Temple" was the family temple of Shouemon Maeno, the warlord of the civil war time, and it was established in 1595. @Shouemon was a ruler of Tajima district and later became a guardian, then adviser of Hidetsugu. However, when Hidetsugu committed disembowelment, Shouemon also committed hara-kiri from a sense of responsibility. @His nephew, Seisuke felt sympathy with him and to mourn Shouemon's soul, Seisuke took Shouemon's death poem back to his hometown, and established "Kannon Temple". @Later in 1748, Kannon Hall opened to worship the Merciful Goddess Buddhist
saint. There are some halls, which worship the Merciful Goddess Buddhist
saint as a principle image, such as Hokke Hall of Todai Temple and Nanen
Hall of Koufuku Temple in Nara. |
