" Joren Temple", which was contributed by General Iemasa Hachisuka

 Joren Temple
@Joren Temple

@Joren Temple located in Sunaba, Miyaushiro town. It was originally called as " the hall of the Merciful Goddess", however the name has changed to Shorin-Zan Joren Temple when Iemasa Hachisuka, the ruler of Awa feudal clan, reconstructed the temple in 1624. Although this temple is historically important, it had to be rebuilt due to its deterioration.

@Iemasa Hachisuka was a general of the civil war time. He was born in 1558 and his father was Koroku Hachisuka. Iemasa spent his childhood in the seminary of Mandara Temple and received his education there. The desk he used at that time is carefully kept in the temple as a treasure of the temple.
Iemasa's life wasn't always easy, especially he had to live between two masters, Hideyoshi and Ieyasu who were the two most powerful rulers of the country of that time.
He also suffered from the loss of his son. In his hard time, he recalled his good old days in Konan and the Merciful Goddess of Joren Temple, therefore, he dedicated the reconstruction of Joren Temple to compensate for his indebtedness.
