@Since Ikoma mansion was in Kori, it was also called as "Kori castle". After Nobukatsu Oda became a ruler of Owari feudal clan, the mansion was reconstructed to be a fortress to protect the house from enemies in the order of Nobukatsu. The fact is written in "Choshufushi", the historical record of Choshu. It is very famous story that Ieyasu Tokugawa, the Shogun of the time was worried about the weakness of the guard of this castle and came to visit while he was fighting in the battle of Komaki in 1584.

@After Toshitoyo's generation, the family moved to the castle town in Nagoya, the mansion became original residential land, and castle became a town office.
The only two data of Kori castle left are a picture drew in Edo period and a registry of land figure written in first year of Meiji. The registry of land says that the land was about 5 hectares, there were four entrances in each direction, and castle towns were developed along east side and south side of the castle..

@Although it became a residential land and agricultural field at the time of Meiji restoration, at present, a day-care center for children is built in about 2 hectares of the land surrounded by the wall.
