The establishment of Miyaushiro Hachiman Shrine was in December 1587.
And according to the record of the shrine, Iemasa Hachisuka reconstructed
it in 1624.
Iemasa spent his childhood in this area. He couldn't forget about the
favor of this shrine that contributed the inner shrine, worship hall,
and so on. The architecture and decoration of the shrine is outstanding
that those were specified as cultural properties of the prefecture in
1958.
This shrine was functioning as a branch castle of Miyaushiro castle,
and was called "Miyaushiro fortress" and the evidence is the
stone fence surrounding the shrine.
In the civil war time, Koroku Hachisuka and Shouemon Maeno made this
shrine as their base and helped Nobunaga and Hideyoshi to unify the country.
