Kyou mound

@There is a big cherry tree in Tashiro graveyard in Tashiro town. Beside the tree, there is a small mound, which was a monument stone with 125-cm height. The relief of the Merciful Goddess is carved on the stone and that is facing toward Komaki Mountain. On the backside of the stone, there is epigraph. It says the name of the place, which is "Kyou mound, Kori village, Owari", and one more line which says, "this is the place where Kitsuno was cremated". The established date is not clear, but it is said that it was built to mourn Kitsuno who died young in May 13, 1566.
We can feel the gentle smile of Kitsuno through the expression of the Merciful Goddess. It is said that Nobunaga cried all night when Kitsuno died, and everyday he looked at the mound from the observatory of Kori castle with tears in his eyes for quite while.

@When we stand here, we can recall the great commanders of civil war time, such as Nobunaga, Maeno family, Hachisuka family, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and Ieyasu Tokugawa.

@We can also recall the beautiful love story between Nobunaga and Kitsuno in the shadow of violent battles.
