@Magoshiro Katsukane Yoshida was born in 1584 as the first son of Katsuyoshi
Maeno, the 15th generation of Maeno family, and the vassal of Nobukatsu.
Katsukane spent his childhood as a hostage in a temple Kiyosu, and received
education there.
@When he was 15 years old, Katsukane participated in the battle of
Sekigahara (1600) with his father for the first time. Due to an unmoral
action while serving Matsudaira at Kiyosu castle, his father Katsuyoshi
was deprived his status as a warrior, as an outlaw, he came back to
his hometown, Maeno. Katsukane inherited his father's business as a
village headman. He became a Christian and to confess that, he changed
name from Maeno to Yoshida. One of the reasons why he decided to write
"Bukou-yawa" was that his Grandfather and father had been
recording the documents happening around their house, and after his
father's death in 1605, Katsuyoshi had to succeed the job.
@Magoshiro (Katsukane) spared to end the family history as warriors,
and decided to hand down the family history and distinguished services
they have done to the ancestors.
@He arranged and collected the data for his writing while he run the
family business. It took long time from 1634 to finish 21 volumes of
the conscientious story.
