12.Iemasa Hachisuka, who contributed Mandara Temple hall


@Iemasa Hachisuka was born in 1558 and his father was Koroku Hachisuka.
He was raised in monastery of Mandara Temple and received education there. The desk he used there and his mortuary tablet are kept in the temple. Iemasa participated in the battles under Hideyoshi with his father, Koroku. In 1624, he fought in conquering Shikoku, and for the reward, he received a village in Awa district.

@He continued to participate in battles and kept achieving outstandingly.
He was appointed to be an assistant ruler of Awa district, then later became the ruler of the district. He governed the region well and built the foundation of Awa feudal clan.

@When he thought back to his lifetime, he couldn't forget the place of Konan where he spent his childhood. So, in 1624, he contributed the restoration of Hachiman Temple, Joren Temple, and monastery of Mandara Temple. He sent his subordinates to attend completion ceremony of Hachiman Temple.
In 1632, when he was 75, he contributed the restoration of Mandara Temple Hall in same style as he Hall of State ceremonies in Kyoto Imperial Palace.
Iemasa died in 1638 at the age of 81.
